Because cable heating is low voltage, even if the integrity of the cables
is breached, the electrical leakage into the aquarium is low enough so that it will not harm either your fish or if you put you hadn into the aquairum. The low-voltage aspect of cable heating thus makesit even more safe than the traditional glassimmersion heater, and it is
imppsible for the tempreature to rise too high of for the fish to burn themselves against cable heating.
Remember hoever that the primary purpose of the discus aquarium is the successful maintenace of these fish, and al elments of the
aquarium must promote this goal. For instance, certain species of catfish are
helpful for controlling algae, but if these
catfish also have a taste for the musu on the sides of the discus, these catfishes are
obviously out. Or there may be a kind of plant that you would love to keep in your aquarium,
but it needs coler temperatures tha ndiscus will tolerate. Lowering the water
temperature for the plant could have disastrous consequences for your discus integrity cable heating.
