Unbelievable! Well, I suppose that if the "Fugs" could turn beat poetry
into rock meyhem and sell albums (they did this in the 60's, mind you),
why not?
You know, with the possible exception of their drummer and the current
bass
player (who used to play with Miles Davis), the Rolling Stones are barely
musically capable. Keith Richards is one of the worst guitarists ever,
yet
he is "one of the best".

In the final analysis, its all about feeling and creating a mood.
Yes, I agree completely. Richard's playing may not be complex, it's rather
easy to figure out what he is doing, but rather difficult (for me anyway) to
play it with just the right touch to sound good.
That would be quite a challenge. Especially since it requires you to have
an understanding of harmony and rhythm that is quite unlike what you were
doing before. Given the mathematical nature of music, I doubt that it
will take long for you to come up to speed.
As above, I understand the theory, but need some years of practice. If I
can play this stuff by the time I am 50 I will be quite happy.
